August 25 - The Port Dock line, a branch of the Outer Harbor line in Port Adelaide, South Australia will open. Port Dock railway station will be the only new station on the branch line, built near the site of the original Port Dock station which closed in 1981.[78]
August 30 – Lynnwood Extension of the Link light rail system is expected to open in Seattle. It would extend the 1 Line from Seattle's Northgate neighborhood to Lynnwood in Snohomish County, Washington.[79]
